Sole EUV CO2 laser supplier
TRUMPF
The de-facto sole supplier of the high-power CO2 laser for ASML EUV light sources (LPP), firing at tin droplets to create 13.5nm EUV plasma. ASML invested directly in TRUMPF (as it did in Zeiss); in 2025 TRUMPF won ASML’s Supplier Award (Technology) for a next-gen high-energy EUV laser. Its core business is industrial lasers and machine tools. Private (Germany).

TRUMPF, with Zeiss (optics), is the other apex chokepoint of the EUV supply chain. It is effectively the only maker of the high-power CO2 laser used in the EUV light source (LPP), and ASML has locked it in with a direct investment. It is private, so no stock-price validation is possible, but like Zeiss, the fact that ASML EUV depends on it shows how irreplaceable it is.
